You can be strong in the Lord because you are filled with the Holy Spirit. He is the One who gives power and strength to his people. (Psalm 68:35)

Psalm 28:6-8 “Praise the Lord! For he has heard my cry for mercy. The Lord is my strength and shield. I trust him with all my heart. He helps me, and my heart is filled with joy. I burst out in songs of thanksgiving.”
Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
Ephesians 6:10 “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.”

  • “Oh Canada -The True North strong and free!” Pray for spiritual strength for Canada as a nation.
  • Thank God for the times when Jesus has been an ever present help in trouble and given you supernatural strength to persevere. Thank Him for when He has strengthened you in body, mind and spirit, during a difficult season. Ask Him to continue to strengthen your faith in the face of adversity.
  • Pray for someone who comes to mind just now who needs to know Jesus is their strength and shield. Think of others who are facing a health challenge, separation or divorce, difficulty parenting, grieving a loss, caught in an oppressive work environment, caring for elderly parents. Pray they would know the power of God in their lives and circumstance and be strengthened.
  • Scripture tells us to love God with all our heart, mind, soul and strength. Heart, soul, and mind have to do with what is on the inside of us. Strength has to do with what is on the outside of us. Ask God how he wants you to honour him with your abilities, skills, resources, gifts, passions, personality and experiences.
