Day 10: Identity
As Christians, we have an unshakable identity rooted in Jesus Christ.
2 Corinthians 5:17 “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ,
the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!”
- Praise God that you are ‘in Christ’ and a new creation
- Is there someone in your life who is the source of your identity other than Christ? Are you allowing yourself to be the source of another’s identity? Confess and pray that Christ alone would be the source of identity in our lives.
- Humbly lay down your desire to prove your own worth at the foot of the cross. Confess any areas you have been looking for your identity in position, performance, popularity, or possessions.
- Pray for your identity to be anchored to the truth of who God is and who is He is you. Pray that biblical truth found in Scripture would be the loudest voice in your life.
Here are a few identity statements from Scripture. Read through the list twice and rejoice that you are secure in Jesus Christ. Declare aloud that only ‘in Christ’ will you find a view of yourself that is completely accurate and built on an unchanging rock.
Allow God’s truth to renew your mind as you read and pray.
