Motivation Monday - Am I Enough?

“A child has been born for us; a son has been given to us. The responsibility of complete dominion will rest on his shoulders, and his name will be: the Wonderful One, the Extraordinary Strategist, the Mighty God, the Father of Eternity, the Prince of Peace!  Great and vast is his dominion.” Isaiah 9:6 TPT

Those of us who already live very full lives may find ourselves in ‘ramp it up’ mode during the Advent season, taking on more than an olympic athlete because we want to make Christmas special for so many.

The problem? Most of us are NOT elite athletes and at some point, find ourselves depleted of the energy we so desperately need.

Why do we feel the pressure to do one more thing? Buy one more gift? Go to one more event?

Perhaps somewhere along the way we have shifted our focus off the sweet and strong Jesus who flooded our world with light and life. We may have reshifted to focus on what everyone around us is doing in order to check all the endless boxes on the never-ending Christmas list. So that we would feel ‘enough’.

We are so tied to our output as a way of valuing our ‘enoughness’. So the question of ‘are we doing enough?’ naturally leads to the question of ‘am I enough?”

Of course you are. And of course you aren’t.

Only God is Enough.

If God is indeed the Wonderful One, the Extraordinary Strategist,

the Mighty God, the Father of Eternity AND the Prince of Peace,

can He not carry the weight on His shoulders

all you are carrying right now?

Maybe He not only wants to carry all that is keeping you distracted.

Maybe He simply wants to carry you. (TPT)

Would you allow God to rescue you from the comparison of ‘enoughness’ this season?  Would you allow God to remind you who you are? But most importantly, would you allow God to remind you of who He is and that His enoughness is not only for you, it is for the entire world that He came to rescue and redeem.

I believe in you.  God bless.
