Why wait till after dinner to have dessert? If you’re looking for an excuse to eat the sweet stuff first, look no further! Eating pineapple or papaya before dinner has some great health benefits including aiding in digestion and can helping to prevent constipation.

Aside from the fact that these fruits are packed with vitamins, minerals and fibre, both of them contain natural digestive enzymes which help the body break down food for energy. The enzyme bromelain, found in pineapple and papain found in papaya are excellent sources of proteolytic enzymes which play important roles in protein digestion, immune function and in reducing inflammation.

How to do it: Cut up some fresh Pineapple, Papaya (or both) approximately 15 – 30 minutes before your main meal and serve immediately.

Feel free to use the fancy bowls just for fun!
