Always wanted to try more herbs but not sure how or why? Don’t hesitate any longer. Whether you’re growing them in your garden or picking them up at the store, these herbs will add flavour to your food all while providing added health benefits!
Peppermint: It has been used for centuries to treat digestive issues like gas, bloating and indigestion because it has a calming effect on the tissues in the digestive tract.
How to have it? Drink as a tea, add it to salads and blend into smoothies. Infuse it with strawberries in filtered water to create a refreshing, tasty and fancy version of H20.
Basil: It’s high and antioxidants which can help fight off free radicals.
How to have it? Puree it into soups, blend it into dips and sauces, chop it into salads, top whole leaves onto pizza or use it as a garnish on avocado toast, caprese salad or ice cream.
Cilantro: It’s packed with vitamins A, C, E and K which may help fight infections and reduce inflammation.
How to have it? Toss it into rice dishes, spice up your sour cream, add flavour to your stir-frys, chop it into salads or coleslaw, or add it to your salad dressings.
Parsley: It contains antioxidants as well as vitamins A, C and K which can help reduce inflammation and protect against chronic diseases. It can also aid in digestion and in preventing heart disease. It’s also a great way to freshen your breath!
How to use it? Chop it into salsas, salads and vinaigrettes. Throw it onto grilled veggies, roasted potatoes, or use as a garnish. Add it to hot or cold grain dishes like, couscous, quinoa or tabouleh.
Chives: They can help prevent cancer, improve memory and improve bone density. They are also known for helping to lower blood pressure and enhance circulation.

Lemongrass: It has anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties, it can reduce pain and inflammation and can boost the nervous and immune system.
