The Studio Retreat: This Is Where It Lands
By Cathie Ostapchuk
There is a moment at the end of something long and intentional where you realize - you are not who you were when you started. You never knew where this journey, or this commitment would take you, but you are Not. Going. Back.
Formation is not a one-time thing. It unfolds over time, in community. Not dramatically. Not loudly. But undeniably. Starting with identity.
This past weekend, we gathered for The Studio Retreat. Nine months of formation of showing up, of wrestling, of naming what is true and what is not – of allowing God to pull together the fragmented pieces of our lives and leadership - somehow all came to a quiet, powerful culmination.
Session IX in our journey is centred on transformation. We are still standing. Resilient. Stronger than before. Not as a concept, but as a lived reality.
The kind that asks:
What are you still carrying that you were never meant to keep?
What ways of thinking, leading, striving… no longer fit who you are becoming?
And slowly, together, we began to lay those things down.
Not because we had arrived - but because we could finally see clearly enough to let go.
There is something sacred about doing that work in community.
Women across generations, across callings, across seasons—sitting in the same room, holding space for one another with a depth that cannot be manufactured. There were six decades of stunning women leaders represented in the room.
We prayed.
We listened.
We spoke things out loud that had been sitting quietly for too long.
There were moments of laughter, of clarity, of deep stillness.
And then there was the anointing. And the commissioning.
Not a performance. Not a platform moment.
But a quiet, weighty sending.
A recognition that what has been formed in these nine months is not meant to stay contained - it is meant to be lived.
To lead differently.
To serve from a deeper place.
To carry less, and yet somehow carry more of what actually matters.
To live in rhythms that build our capacity, not drain it. To live well and lead whole.
To interpret the experiences in our lives as ones God has purposed for our deep growth and lve for His daughters.
The Artist isn’t finished with us yet.
This retreat wasn’t the end.
It was the beginning of a different way of being.
A more integrated way.
A more grounded way.
A way of leadership that is less about proving and more about presence.
And honestly, it was extraordinary.
Not because it was loud or impressive -
but because it was real.
If something in you is stirring as you read this…
We’re opening the door for you to experience it.
Join us for A Taste of The Studio on April 28 - a simple, powerful introduction to this kind of formation and leadership.
And for those already sensing the invitation to go deeper, The Studio 2026 Cohort launches this September.
We would love to have you in the room.
