Praying With Purpose

Pray for New Brunswick

Every month this year we have celebrated one of our uniquely beautiful provinces. As Canada has celebrated 150 years we have prayed monthly for our nation! We have so much to celebrate and be thankful for. This month our prayer focus is on New Brunswick.

  • Pray for wisdom for Premier Brian Gallant as he leads the leaders of this province.
  • New Brunswick has developed a non-profit housing model in St. John that has become a model other areas and provinces are hoping to follow. Pray for the leaders of this project and for the political leaders involved, that they may make decisions and provide guidance benefiting all the residents of New Brunswick.

  • New Brunswick is home to many companies of the pulp and paper industry, as well as wonderful forestry initiatives. Pray God would help the Energy and Resource Development department to both protect their natural resources and provide for their people.

  • December is a month full of opportunities for churches and Para church ministries to be involved in their communities. Pray the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ would ring true in the hearts of many people this season. Ask God to bring many new people into His kingdom through the truth and love that shines bright at Christmas.
  • Pray for church leaders, pastors, teachers, staff and volunteers. As the year comes to a close, may they each know the true depth of God’s love, may they each feel the presence of His hand upon their lives and ministries, and may they each be restored through the peace that only God can give.

God keep our land glorious and free. In Jesus Name. (2 Corinthians 3:17)

This year we have been celebrating 150 years of our great nation. We have so much to celebrate and be thankful for. God has given us a rich inheritance in our bountiful land. This month our prayer focus is on The Yukon, Northwest Territories and Nunavut.

  • Pray for wisdom for the leaders of the Canadian Territories: Sandy Silver (Yukon), Bob McLeod (Northwest Territories), and Peter Taptuna (Nunavut).
  • Pray for the children of Nunavut who have markedly worse health than children in the rest of the country. Specifically, they experience more severe respiratory illnesses, hearing problems, and seizure disorders.

  • Pray for the mental health of those struggling with suicidal thoughts and plans. May God’s love reach out to each one, letting them know they are loved and valued.

  • Issues of food and housing security result in unsettled economic systems, medical supports, and educational facilities. Pray for stability and provision of healthy, sustainable food that will provide a safe and nurturing foundation for children and families.

  • Pray for a unification of people’s hearts and minds. Ask for God’s forgiveness to reign and for his mercies to be renewed.

  • Church leaders require renewed strength and vision for ongoing ministries that will reach the people in each community. Pray for passion and perseverance in building and maintaining church and community programs in the North.

God keep our land glorious and free. In Jesus Name. (2 Corinthians 3:17)

Pray for British Columbia

As Canada celebrates 150 years, Gather Women has committed to pray for our nation the 1st of every month. Let’s celebrate with thankful hearts the rich diversity of each province as together they unite and strengthen our nation. This month our prayer focus is British Columbia.

  • Pray for British Columbia’s new provincial government during these early days as they negotiate the future of the province. Pray for wisdom for Premier John Horgan as he leads. Pray for a deep desire for all government leaders to work together for the good of the people in the province..

  • B.C. will be recovering from a season of wildfires that are the worst in recorded history. Pray for wisdom on how to rebuild, especially for those who lost homes and business as well as communities that were significantly impacted.

  • Pray for the educational system, the Minister of Education and those involved in leading schools and educational facilities who are dealing with a number of very important but sensitive issues. Pray for wisdom, grace and understanding to be evident, and an open door for the voice of truth to be heard and the enemy to be silenced.

  • Praise God for His beautiful work through partnerships evidenced in so many local churches throughout B.C. Pray for an increase in partnerships and a growing sense of unity among the churches. Pray the church in B.C. would continue to grow from strength to strength and from glory to glory.

  • There is a real cry in the hearts of Indigenous communities for reconciliation and we have seen so many rise up and come alongside to stand with them. Pray that many will be a part of shaping the future for the beautiful Indigenous people and that the love of our Saviour who reconciled us to Himself will be seen and His love will bring healing and hope.

  • Pray for many women to gather at the National Gather Rise Event at Peace Portal Alliance Church in Surrey, B.C. on October 21. Pray for the many voices of Canadian women to bring encouragement, challenge and inspire women of faith in Canada. Pray for those who gather to connect and build relationships for Kingdom impact.

God keep our land glorious and free. In Jesus Name. (2 Corinthians 3:17)
